Full Time Community Outreach Specialist
About Us: Hands for Africa is a 501c3 non-profit organization, we alleviate the hardship of thousands of civil war survivors in Sierra Leone. The ten-year long civil war broke out in 1991 over natural resources, primarily the diamond trade. Thousands of Sierra Leoneans and other Africans were maimed and brutalized by the horrendous acts of human injustice inflicted by the rebels. Millions of victims were displaced and countless more further impoverished by the blood diamond industry. Out of this tragedy, Hands for Africa was born with the mission of restoring lost hope to the survivors. Up to date, HFA has provided over 150 prosthetic limbs and sport rehab, more than 75 education scholarships, and over $14,000 towards healthcare. As part of our team, you can help to change their lives for the better as well. We have also implemented a Project USA: HandsUp4Health program that focuses on aiding local afterschool programs with educational tools, healthy meals and snacks, and sports equipment.
